TOWN OF ORDWAY, COLORADO
MAYORAL PROCLAMATION OF A LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY
REGARDING COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS DISEASE 2019)
Today, March 20, 2020 at 10:17 A.M., I, Lisa Reisch, as mayor of the Town of Ordway, Colorado, do hereby declaring a State of Emergency for the Town of Ordway, State of Colorado due to Novel Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
This declaration is being made to ensure the Town of Ordway is able to access any State or Federal funds in order to handle the potential COVID-19 outbreak.
This declaration is made pursuant to 24-33.5-709(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, and is made by me as principal executive officer of the Town of Ordway, CO.
It is my intention to seek continuation or termination of this state of emergency from the Town of Ordway Board of Trustees, at our regularly scheduled meeting of Monday, March 23, 2020. In making this proclamation, it is and remains the public policy of our community to ensure the proper and orderly well-being of our community for our continued well-being. This proclamation is in no way intended to increase panic or fear among our residents, but to assist and aid in the physical wellbeing and economic strength of our Town.
Attached hereto is the text of the proposed Proclamation of a Local State of Emergency for which I hope to obtain the approval of the Board of Trustees at our next regular meeting.
Due to federal and state guidelines regarding social distancing during this worldwide pandemic, residents are hereby advised that the March 23, 2020 meeting is not physically open to the public due to the risk that an excess of 10 individuals could be present. The declaration of this state of local emergency, or any extension hereof by the Board of Trustees at the March 23, 2020 regular meeting, is not anticipated or intended to have material effect upon the upcoming municipal election which is to be held on April 7, 2020, and the residents of the Town are hereby invited and encouraged to exercise their constitutional rights to participate therein.
